San Jose Beauty & Fashion Photographer | Post From My New Cool WordPress App

I love to be outdoor and travel quite a bit. I usually take thousands of pics using my iPhone. I found a WordPress App that gives me great flexibility to blog away from my computer.

My first mobile blog post…this is so cool!!! Popped in to see my girlfriend Malai at her new salon location this morning. She’s an esthetician and can tell you how to get beautiful skin just like hers.

Image I took of her in the studio a while back.

Congratulations Malai!!!

Dawn Clarkson/Cosmetologist Extraordinaire {The Studio Salon & Boutique} – Professional Head Shots

I would like to introduce the very beautiful, intelligent and super duper nice person Dawn Clarkson. Dawn and I were introduced in 1992 as new members of the Almaden Valley Women’s Club. Fast forward to this year, Dawn is Chair of the 37th Almaden Valley Art & Wine Festival, to be held on September 15, 2013 at Almaden Lake Park. She is also Corporate Sponsor Chair and City Liason for the festival and if that weren’t enough to keep her busy she also is founder of Top Dog Rescue. On a personal level Dawn is one of those people you always see smiling, never has a mean thing to say about anyone and someone who lights up the room when she walks in. She wasn’t sure what to write when I asked for her Bio so I asked her a few questions.

1. What are your hobbies & things you enjoy doing?
I love running and have competed in several half marathons. I especially love destination races. I’ve traveled to Tennessee, LA, Oregon, and am going to North Carolina next year.
2. Tell me about Top Dog Rescue… My little non-profit is Top Dog Rescue. It’s really just me rescuing dogs mostly from the Merced Shelter. I fund everything and am going through the red-tape of making it an official non-profit rescue group.
3. Any pets and their names?
I am crazy about dogs and do a lot of rescue from the Merced Shelter. I currently own a hound/lab mix named Maytag and a doxie/terrier mix named Rue.
4. How did you become a hair stylist(what is the correct term)?
I became a Cosmetologist because I love hearing about people and believe in possibilities.
5. If you could have lunch with anyone who would you choose, dead or alive?
Who would I have lunch with??!! There are so many that have passed…my Grandmother’s, my good friend Anita….just to have the precious time back and tell them how much I miss them and share how much I’ve learned. Jesus and Buddha would be good ones too! Oh, maybe former Pres. George Bush.

Day 5 – 12 Days of Giving / The Studio by Angi – San Jose & SF Bay Area Family Photographer

I’d like to start off by telling you how wonderful the staff at The Studio by Angi is! At every one of my visits there has been someone who greeted me with a smile at the door AND actually assisted me with what I was looking for. It’s like having a personal shopper! Yesterday I witnessed a handful of their staff helping a family in need. They opened their {Hearts} by offering free services and many other items for their home, one such item being a sofa, and the family walked out with a bag full of salon goodies! It really touched my heart and last year a couple of staff members rearranged their schedule to help me out with hair and make-up by offering their services for free with the Help Portrait campaign. It’s always a great shopping experience for me and because they carry so many items such as jewelry, handbags, home decor, sweaters and jackets, I can guarantee you will walk out with an armful of gifts. This holiday season, visiting The Studio by Angi is a must for your hair and make-up service, skin care, gifts for the holidays or if you need help with styling ideas because the staff will be there for you with awesome good old fashioned customer service with a smile. 🙂
